Digilent’s Analog Discovery 2 lets you carry an entire electronics lab in a pocket-sized, USB device.  The Analog Discovery 2 is designed with precision analog components including two fully differential 14-bit analog inputs, two 14-bit analog outputs, two dedicated trigger inputs, and 16 digital I/Os and an FPGA.  Each Analog Discovery 2 contains 12 instruments, including an oscilloscope, arbitrary waveform generator, digital logic or bus analyzer, pattern generator, voltmeter, network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, and more.  There are also two programmable power supplies that can output up 500mW total when powered via USB, or up to 2.1W per power supply.

All of the functionality of the Analog Discovery 2 can be accessed using Digilent’s free WaveForms software suite.  This provides a virtual interface for each instrument that allows you to quickly change settings and view measurement results, just like a classic bench instrument.  WaveForms also has built-in support for JavaScript, allowing you to automate measurements and data analysis.  Further development is available using the WaveForms SDK, LabVIEW, or MATLAB.

All IOs are available on the 2x15 Analog Discovery connector and can be easily accessed or connected to other hardware using the included 2x15 flywire cable assembly.  Digilent also offers a variety of accessories so you can get the most from the Analog Discovery 2.  These include the BNC adapter, which provides BNC terminations for both oscilloscope inputs and both waveform generator outputs, and the impedance analyzer board, which adds automatically adjusting reference resistors to simplify impedance measurements in WaveForms.  These and other accessories are also available as part of the various Analog Discovery 2 bundles.
