The L78M05CDT-TR is a 5V regulator housed in a miniature DPAK package and capable of supplying up to 500mA without the use of a heatsink. With a typical voltage drop out of 2V at 350mA of current, the precision regulator is guaranteed to operate at the full extended temperature range of up to 150°C. With multiple protection systems built into the L78M05CD-T (thermal, short circuit, and safe area) you can be sure that reliability is something the 78M05CDT-TR has in mind. Worth noting is that while this is a fixed regulator, external components can be used to turn the L78M05CDT-TR into a variable regulator as well as performing power modulation.

L78M05CDT-TR Linear Regulators

Use the standard L78M05CDT-TR linear regulator from STMicroelectronics to maintain a constant output voltage. Its typical dropout voltage at current is 2@350mA V. This voltage regulation device's single output can produce a current up to 0.5 A. With a voltage no larger than 35 V, this will supply sufficient power to your circuit. With a fixed output that has a voltage of 5 V, this is power management at its best. At a load regulation of 100mV and line regulation of 100mV your circuit is capable of maintaining a constant voltage level at your output. This product will be shipped in tape and reel packaging to allow for quick mounting and safe delivery. Its polarity is positive. This voltage regulation device has a minimum operating temperature of 0 °C and a maximum of 150 °C.
