3D Printing Filaments Thermo Plastic Polyurethane Red 2.88mm

Feed your hungry 3D printer with Arrow Lab's 2.2lb (1kg) Red 2.88mm diameter TPU filament. TPU (Thermo Plastic Polyurethane) is a flexible plastic that has become highly sought after for creative prints. It is perfect for beginners and prototypes that will not be subjected to mechanical stress, but rather prints that need to have tensile flexibility. We recommend printing this TPU at 240C with a bed temperature of 80C, depending on the printer. Of course, no 3D printer is created equal to another, so your exact print setting may vary accordingly. You may want to use a glue stick on the print surface to aid in adhesion if that is a common issue with your printer. A good 3D print is only as good as it's foundation, which sadly rests at the mercy of the first 1 to 5 layers of your print. We have used TPU for everything from printing toys, to solid puppy chew toys, to prank silver-ware. TPU stands for Thermoplastic Polyurethane, which is actually slightly stiffer than other flexible filaments, which means that there is an increased likelihood of a successful print, even if you choose to use a standard printer head. We do recommend using a flex-dedicated printer head, but if you do not have access to one you should, in theory, still be able to print with a standard FDM printer head. TPU is also considered a hybrid in between plastics and rubbers, meaning that it can be used both as a hard rubber and a soft engineering thermoplastic. TPU has even recently found itself as a cushioning technology in the soles of shoes given its exciting mechanical properties.
