Honeywell FMA Series Small Form-Factor Piezoresistive-Based Force Sensors

The small form-factor (5mm X 5mm) supports new designs, and the digital output reduces the time and cost of developing new medical and industrial applications. Honeywell’s FMA Series are amplified, calibrated, and temperature compensated for sensor offset, sensitivity, temperature effects, and nonlinearity using an on-board Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC). The sensors are offered with a choice of force ranges and digital outputs (I²C and SPI). The high accuracy and performance, all in a small package, enable the use of force sensors in machines that traditionally have not had sensor-based control and feedback loops.
