The newly released Wireless Charging transmitter IC - WLC1115 - is one of the key enablers of performance maximization in Wireless Charging designs. The IC is highly integrated including USB-PD/PPS sink, DC/DC controller, a full bridge inverter, sensing peripherals, configurable memory and software that supports Qi v1.3.x and proprietary charging protocols. It offers highly integrated yet scalable platforms that help to meet compliance and proprietary charging requirements with configurable software.

OPTIGA™ Trust charge
Preventing wireless power operation between non-certified wireless chargers is crucial for consumer safety and consistent user experience. The OPTIGA™ Trust charge is an integrated turnkey solution for authentication and contributes to device and user safety by protecting against fake chargers. The turnkey setup – with full system integration support and all key and certificate material preprogrammed – minimizes customer effort for design, integration and deployment. Infineon is the perfect partner for secured authentication according to the Qi wireless charging standard. The Qi certification process is easy for you: Infineon handles the entire provisioning process, including the WPC-compliant certificate chain. For details, watch the video.

Reference Design: REF_WLC_TX15W_C1
The companion REF_WLC_TX15W_C1 MP A11 power transmitter solution board is a Qi v1.3.2 compliant extended power profile (EPP) transmitter design (available on demand). Additionally, it supports Basic Power Profile (BPP) with Proprietary Power Delivery Extensions. This reference board is powered using USB PD 3.0-compliant USB-C power adapter and can support DC connector input of 9V - 20V through firmware option. Combined with the OptiMOS™ power devices and OPTIGA™ Trust Charge, this solution represents a highly efficient and secure wireless charging platform. The solution board supports firmware upgrades using USB-C or I2C interface along with the included Dongle and the Wireless Charging Configuration Graphical User Interface (GUI). There are additional options provided for firmware updates using Serial Wire Debug (SWD) while using the ModusToolbox™ and Programmer.
