The CPC1705Y, from semiconductor pioneers IXYS, is their newest offer in solid-state relay (SSR) technology. Not only does it provide the effective, non-mechanical switching abilities of an SSR, the CPC1705Y features optically coupled MOSFETs which are driven by a highly efficient infrared LED for input/output voltage isolation.
The optically coupled MOSFETs, in tandem with the miniscule (10 x 21 mm) footprint of IXYS’s proprietary Power SIP packaging, make the CPC1705Y ideal for any situation that requires reliable switching with minimal PCB crowding.
IXYS’s newest SSR comes with a couple of other powerful features that make it incredibly versatile. Its maximum on-resistance is an amazingly low 90 mΩ, which means that very little voltage is lost during the switching process. A 3.25 ADC load current gives it additional high-performance specifications. For circuit safety, the CPC1705Y is arc-free with no snubbing and no RFI/EMI generation.
The IXYS CPC1705Y is ideal for high-performance scenarios, like robotics and instrumentation, or applications where reliability is required, such as industrial or railroad controls.
