KEMET’s new organic capacitor (KO-CAP) series, T521, are combining the best features of a variety of capacitor types into one high-voltage tantalum polymer capacitor. With the general volumetric efficiency that tantalum capacitors tout, The T521 series also features a very low ESR comparable to ceramic capacitors and improved high-frequency capacitance retention like aluminum electrolytic capacitors. These solid capacitors tend to outperform similar liquid electrolyte capacitors in terms of high-ripple current and operational life.
The T521 series offer a wide voltage, capacitance, and size range, especially compared to other KO-CAP capacitors by KEMET. The tantalum capacitors are rated from 12 to 48 V, have 4.7 to 1500 µF capacitance options and up to a 125 oC operating temperature. The T521 series are designed to operate in applications such as sound/audio circuits, handheld and consumer electronics, telecommunications, and other high-voltage scenarios.
